I love Fox. I think half my shirts and jackets are from them. I should just go work for them and try to get free stuff. Haha cause that's realistic. Anyways, my name is Jennie and I'm a jacket-aholic. I'll see you at the meetings lol.

Foxes and Fleece
If I could make it Fall all year round, I probably would. I love it for so many reasons. Jackets, pretty leaves, hot chocolate, perfect temperatures, delicious smells, bonfires, pumpkin flavored things, the list goes on and on. One of these things causes a huge problem for me. That would be the jackets. I am a little obsessed. With some girls, it's shoes or purses. With me it's jackets. I LOVE THEM. Especially from PacSun. I want almost every single one they have and it takes every shred of self control I have to not load up my credit card with jacket purchases. Today I failed. I figured, I get paid on Monday, and if I just buy one now I will be satisfied so I at least have one new one. But guess what. They were having a BOGO sale. OF COURSE. They know how to suck you in. So I got two. I will not buy another jacket for the next........two months. I don't think I can realistically commit to anything longer than that. But we will see :) Here's what I got:

Sorry Cows, But You Look Good in Jacket Form
It's no secret that I love jackets. In my top five favorite jackets is my cheapo $30 faux leather jacket. I have been on a search for the PERFECT leather jacket to invest in, and I think I may have found it.
The only problem is it's on a weird website from a company in Pakistan......and I can't find another jacket even close to it that I like. Also not a huge fan of the buckles on the sides but other than that I really like it. Guess I'll have to keep looking around or decide if I want to take a risk on the weird Pakistani company.....

Hats, Hats, Nothing But Hats
I love hats. And I tend to practice retail therapy. What do these two things add up to? Me visiting www.lids.com. Yep. So I will soon be the proud new owner of these lovely hats :)
I am excited :)

The Silver Lining
Wow I can't believe it has been almost a month since I have written a post. I start a lot of journal entries that way lol. I'm not the greatest at writing when I don't think there's anything interesting to say. The thing is, you can always find something interesting to talk about. The key is finding the person who will find what you're saying as interesting lol.
My life is pretty monotonous. Work is stressful. School sucks. Family always keeps me on my toes, most of the time in a predictable way though (sounds contradictory but it's not). My advanced writing class is making me hate writing. Academic writing that is, I still love to free write. I am glad that I decided to keep writing a hobby because if I went into it as a career I would despise it, and that would ruin it for me. There is one thing that always makes my day after a crappy day of work and school, and that is The Office.
When Steve Carrell left The Office it went completely downhill. Nothing about it was funny anymore. However, the last few episodes have made me laugh more than I have in a while. I mean, Dwight has a gigantic monster baby with Angela, Jim pretended like he was murdered by shady people in a hotel room (one of his best pranks EVER), Dwight had appendicitis but stayed in a meeting in hopes of a promotion to the point that he passed out, then went to the hospital, then came back to the meeting right after the surgery. If you have never seen these episodes you may not think these sound very funny, but when you hear the dialogue and see the context of the situations you can't help but literally laugh out loud.
Also, I have found that I use retail therapy quite frequently lately. Whenever I get super stressed or depressed I buy things. Sometimes it is small stuff, but lately it has been more expensive stuff. I have impulse purchased two jackets, two pairs of jeans, and some new running shoes in the last two or three weeks. I can't help it! But don't worry, sometimes I purposefully leave my wallet where I can't access it when I go places so I won't buy anything. It's effective even though it makes me mad sometimes lol.
Anways, this is a really lame post but I will have a better one next time :P Hopefully it won't be a month before I write again.

A Breath of Fresh Air
I love things that are different. I feel inspired by them. Differences are what make this world interesting.
I love this music video. Selena Gomez is gorgeous and talented, even if she is dating Justin Bieber. I love how creative and different the video is.
Selena Gomez & The Scene
Love You Like a Love Song
I think this music video is hilarious and true. Also it is a fun use of collage.
Toby Keith
American Ride
I'm not ashamed to admit I like America's Next Top Model. It's entertaining and the photographs are usually amazing. Allison Harvard has been my favorite out of all the seasons.
This is one of my favorite photographs she was in.
She's really different but she's amazingly talented. Her huge eyes are what throws most people off when they look at her.
They are currently doing an All Star season and she is on it. Their latest challenge was to write a song and sing it in a music video. Hers was weirdly cool. She kind of reminds me of a Tim Burton character in this video.
Speaking of Tim Burton, I recently saw Coraline for the first time a couple of weeks ago and even though it is weird, I like it. I love the music on it and the animation is so creative.
I am also a fan of Project Runway. Deal with it. The latest winner, Anya Ayoung-Chee, is fantastic. She was my favorite and I'm glad she won.
This is her
I never thought any woman could look good with half a shaved head but she pulls it off. She is from Trinidad, which I think has definitely influenced her style.
She is amazing with prints. I loved the dress she wore at Fashion Week.
She also designed this:
And lots of other stuff like that. I'm glad she won. She just barely learned to sew weeks before going on the show and she won. She's inspirational because even though she didn't have the technique the other designers had, she had the creativity and that's what helped her win. I can relate to her in that way, of not having all the technical skills.
Technique can be taught, creativity can't.
Anyways, enjoy :)

Putting My Stuff Out There
Hey everyone! I normally don't solicit anything.....but I really need your votes haha. I entered Volcom's t-shirt design contest on PacSun's website and I really want to win.
Here is one design:
And guess what. Literally like, five minutes after I submitted this design, some dude submitted the exact same design, except black and grey instead of colorful. I couldn't believe it. So don't vote for him! Vote for me! Please please please!
Here is another one I made:
And I made another one! Haha apparently there is no limit. I could make a hundred of these things.
Click HERE to vote for Fracture! Please vote for all of them! It will give me a better chance of winning.
And I just made another one. I can't stop myself lol.
Thanks so much. You won't regret it. If I win, my design will be sold in stores, which is a baby step towards my dream lol. You wouldn't say no to helping somebody's dream right?
So vote!

And The Doobie Doobie Pothead Stoner of the Year Award Goes To...
......half of the people at the X96 Big Ass Show 2011. Seriously, half the people there were smoking. Ok maybe just a fourth were smoking and the rest were drunk. I don't know what it is about outdoor concerts that attracts the grungiest, dirtiest people. Clean people like music too, right? Here are some pics I tried to take without being obvious. I'm not so great at the stalker-type photo taking.
Let's start with a game of "Where's Waldo?"
Can you find him?
Oh, look! Here he is.
Silly Waldo.
And then there was this girl:
She kept looking at me so I couldn't get a very good picture. That girl in the middle is in an old fashioned school girl uniform or something and she was holding a stuffed animal. Yeah.....weird. And I know what you guys are thinking: Where can you get an awesome vomit jacket like the guy on the right? Answer: nowhere. It's one of a kind. His grandpappy made it for him.
But no worries, you can purchase creepy school girl's friend's fedora at most upscale retail shops. Day: made. I know.
Here is our crappy view of the stage when Anberlin was playing. This was after we had moved. We were closer before but pot smoke kept wafting into our faces so we decided not to get a secondhand high and moved next to the people who were smoking cigarettes instead. Lesser of two evils I guess lol.
This picture is just awesome. It looks nothing like how the building and sky actually looked but for some reason, this is the image that came out when I took the picture. I like it better this way.
And here is the awesome T-shirt I got. You HAVE to buy a shirt for every concert you go to. It's a rule I choose to live by.
It was kinda sad but kinda cool cause Brendon Urie, the lead singer for Panic! At the Disco somehow got malaria and was in the hospital. So they improvised and had the lead singers from some of the other bands get up with the rest of Panic! and sing their songs. It was.....interesting. The lead singer for Neon Trees actually did a pretty good job, I was impressed. Brogan Kelby, however, needs to just stick to his own music.
Luckily, I got to see Panic! At the Disco in Oregon in June and they were awesome. Hopefully Brendon recovers soon.
All in all it was a good day. I rode the trax for the first time and I also ate at The Cheesecake Factory for the first time. Their cheesecake was amazing but their salad tasted like shiz-ola. You would think that a restaurant that is fancy enough to have cloth napkins would have a salad that wouldn't make you vomit. I literally gagged and had to down my coke to get rid of the disgusting taste. Britt can testify to this.
All I can say is, if you're looking for a good salad, go to Cafe Rio. Other people will say go to Costa Vida, but at Cafe Rio you get yelled at in Spanish and get huge portions, which is way more exciting than white teenage boys quietly handing you your normal, human sized salad.
I'm rambling cause I'm sick and losing my mind, so peace out.
Enjoy my ramblings.

I Never Thought Cleaning Would be Bad for My Wallet
Soooooooooooooo........I finally have gotten around to moving the rest of my clothes from my old room to my new room. As a result, I found a TON of clothes I forgot I had. I had a huge stack of jeans that are totally not my style anymore, and they fit weird. So what did I do? I went online and ordered a bunch of jeans....whoops.
In my defense, they were all HALF OFF!!!!! I got two pairs from American Eagle, and two pairs from Hollister. The total for all that was about the same as one pair of jeans from Buckle. Bam! Justified purchase. Now I can sleep at night.
Yesterday, I looked at my booklist for school this semester. Not nearly as bad as last semester, but still, I hate buying textbooks. I ordered all the ones I could from Amazon.com since they're way cheaper than the bookstore. So now I am waiting on three separate packages......yay :)
Not gonna lie, I'm more excited for the jeans than the textbooks.

Shopping for Dresses is Like Shopping for Men
What do you get if these shirts have a baby?
This shirt
Ooh baby. There are some winners out there.
Shopping for dresses is JUST like shopping for men. You've got to go through a lot of ugly ones and sometimes you have to settle, but eventually you find one that is PERFECT for you and exactly what you want.
One of my favorite sayings is:
"Men are like parking spaces. All the good ones are taken and all the ones left are handicapped."
Luckily, I was able to find a dress for my sister's wedding with way less hassle and stress than trying to find a good man haha.
Ain't it perdy?
If I have to wear a dress, it has to be cute and will almost always be with converse. Brown ones with this dress :) Can't wait.
10 days and my sister will be a married woman.
Weird.
But she has a gorgeous dress and a terrific guy so her shopping is over :)
