If You Put a Boot On a Girl's Car, Don't Hit On Her

Once upon a time, I parked in an almost completely empty parking lot in Provo, and came back 2 hours later to find a big, fat, ugly boot on my car at midnight.

Yay.

So I called the number on the stupid paper on my window, the guy said he'd be there in 10-15 min.
25 min. later I call him, he said he'd be there in another 10 min.
20 min. after that, he finally pulls up.

He "apologized" for the inconvenience, and then proceeded to hit on me while he charged my credit card $50 bucks
(which I think is completely excessive, a warning or like a $10 fine would've been understandable. Plus, that was all the money I had gotten back from my insurance company, so that buzz was killed).

I was dumbfounded.
Seriously dude, do not hit on chicks after you put a freaking boot on their car and then charge them ridiculous amounts of money.

I hate Provo.

It Would've Been Cheaper to Slaughter the Cow Myself

Twenty-three years ago there were some heinous screams. Those screams were a mixture of pain exploding from my mother and fear pouring out of my sister as she burst into this world. Haha how's that for an introduction? Oh the mental images....

Anyway lol today is my sister Tara's birthday. Hooray! Birthdays aren't that great when you get older. They just seem like another day. Most people's place of work doesn't care that it's their birthday, and they still get worked just as hard as usual. Sometimes there is cake involved, but that's only if you're lucky enough to work somewhere where people treat their employees like valued human beings rather than paid slaves. Which I guess would make them servants....

Luckily, Tara didn't have to work today so we went to lunch at Sammy's with Britt, Cat, and little baby Milo.

Man, oh man, that place could do with a remodel. It's cute and all, but the ceiling tiles were falling down, wires were hanging everywhere, and Tara found a bug in her drink. Surprise for the birthday girl! The food was alright, not the best I've ever had, and definitely not worth how much it cost. The place has potential though.

When Tara saw this picture she said we look a ton alike.....I just don't see it lol.

My sisters rock.
That's all :)

Death and Taxes

"What time is football registration? I'm too lazy to look online"

"I didn't sign up my son online for the two months it was available, and I'll be out of town for the three weeks you're doing registration in the store, can I get special treatment since I'm a moron?"

"Can I get a discount? I know Randy."

"Can I get a discount? I've shopped here before."

"Can I get a discount? I just want a discount."

Blah. Freakin. Blah.

This is the crap I had to deal with for about 9 hours at work today. Nothing I love more than dealing with whiney parents who won't shut up about their "special circumstance" and why we should go out of our way to make things easier for them. Then there's always the fun part of trying to decipher the handwriting on the hundreds of registration forms from chicken scratches into English. Half the forms aren't filled out completely and the other half look like they're in Japanese.

Oh UVFL.
FML

My little sister has this habit of getting the mail and distributing it out throughout the house and putting it on people's beds. Even though she got her tonsils out this morning, she still did it. So when I got home after dealing with all that football crap I went into my room and there was an envelope on my bed. Guess what was inside it?

A CHECK

Heck. Yes.

You know how they say the only things you can be sure of in life are death and taxes? Well thank goodness for that, cause I was happy to be surprised with a check from my insurance company who had lowered my rate and reimbursed part of what I had paid :) I could get used to surprises like that.

You know what else I could get used to?
Having a day off :) Yay for tomorrow.

There's More to Life Than Being Really, Really, Ridiculously Good Looking

Four score and seven years ago.........ok not really. Just four years ago. Four years ago I got my drivers license. On that day a dream was born. A dream of one day owning my own car and having ULTIMATE freedom. Sadly, that dream didn't come true until about a month ago. What a great day that was though :) I bought myself a 2005 Hyundai Elantra and it is the best, most expensive decision I have ever made.

I have this thing where I like to name my stuff. It started with my guitars and I guess it has progressed to my car since I finally have one. It took me a month to figure out a name that fit this perdy car but today, it finally came to me: Blue Steel. That's right. From Zoolander. Luckily, Blue Steel CAN turn left though :)

So voila! Freedom in physical form. Expensive, yet worth it. My dream finally come true. Hopefully I'll have plenty of good memories with Blue Steel. You know what they say, you never forget your first car ;)

My Clothing Choice Doesn't Always Match the Weather

Today I became in grave danger.....danger of all my tuition money I've been trying to save up being suddenly spent on.....drumroll please...............jackets. For those of you who don't know, I have a tiny little obsession with jackets. Ok ok, who am I kidding? It's a HUGE obsession. I feel like this is completely justified by the fact that I have lived in Utah my whole life where it snows for about half the year. I don't know what it is about jackets that I love so much but I just can't help myself.

I made the mistake of going to PacSun's website, which I do about once a week. Today I realized that they have posted some of their new jackets for fall. Oh man. I have already seen at least 4 that I would love to add to my wardrobe. Sad thing is, most jackets are at least $40 bucks. Do the math. If only I had stopped at PacSun. My sister then showed me a shirt she wanted on the Zumiez website and I just HAD to look at their jackets. Bad idea. I found a jacket that says "Make Art, Not War" and fell in love with it.

It just so happens to be available in stores at this very moment. So guess where I'm going tomorrow after work? The DMV. Haha but after that I am most definitely going to the mall to get that hoodie, even though it's July.

Who said my clothing choice had to match the weather? I'm the kind of person who will sit by the fireplace in the middle of winter and eat ice cream. So if the A/C just happens to be blasting in my basement, I don't see why I can't throw on a hoodie. I have a feeling I'm going to have to practice a lot of self control this winter.....we'll see how that goes. Wish me luck :)
